If you walk into the Madra Rua Pub in Park Circle on a Saturday or Sunday morning at 10am, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a seat. Why all the commotion? Because Madra Rua has established itself as one of the best places, if not the best, in the Charleston area to watch a soccer match. If you’re looking for an authentic Irish Pub experience where you can get some fish and chips and a pint of Guinness while watching your favorite team, then the Madra Rua Pub is the only place to go. It’s one of my favorite hangouts and it’s the closest thing to what it might feel like to watch a soccer match in England. If you’re brave enough, try going to Madra Rua when Manchester United and Liverpool play because that’s when you will shoulder to shoulder with the most passionate fans you will ever see in your life.
