10 Essential Questions to ask me before choosing me as your Realtor
So you’ve decided to move to Park Circle? Let me be the first to congratulate you on that decision! You’ll love it here. You’re probably going to need a Realtor to help you find your dream home, right? Well, there’s a lot of good ones out there to choose from, but I believe that I’m the right person for the job. Here are 10 essential questions to ask, not just me, but any Realtor you are thinking of working with. If they can’t answer these questions honestly or without hesitation, then it’s probably a good idea to look at other options. Let’s go!
1) How long have you been selling real estate?
I started in Real Estate in 2007 (the year the real estate market crashed) in Atlanta, Georgia. That taught me how difficult this business could be, but I survived long enough to transfer my license to Charleston, SC in 2012, where I have been selling, and helping people buy real estate in Park Circle ever since. In the 10 years that I have been a Realtor, I’ve seen just about everything which helps me foresee any potential problems that could arise.
2) What is your average number of clients?
Typically, I work with 2 or 3 clients a month. I don’t like to work on “volume.” I like to give each of my clients the attention they deserve, that means being available to talk at any time, or responding to emails immediately. I don’t have a team of people behind me, so when you work with me, you work entirely with me.
3) What is your ratio of buyers to sellers?
I would say that I primarily work with buyers and if I had to guess a ratio, it would be 5:2. When I list properties, it is usually through referrals or previous clients who have purchased a home through me in the past and are looking at moving up! (You can check out some of my previous listings here on Trulia). The good news is I am well-versed in both the buying and selling process and can help either way.
4) What area do you cover?
Since I live, work and play in the Park Circle neighborhood, I would say that it’s the neighborhood I specialize in. I make it a point to know everything about Park Circle, from the people to the restaurants, to community events that make it a great place to live. I realize Park Circle isn’t for everyone, and in fact, I have assisted a number of clients in finding homes in other neighborhoods elsewhere. I think the best way to describe the area that I cover is locations that offer the “Live, Work, Play” lifestyle. Park Circle is one of them, but there are many others that I’m knowledgeable about.
5) Are you part of a team?
I work alone. When you work with me, I’m the one who shows you homes, I’m the one who negotiates to get you the best deal, I’m the one who assists you all the way to closing!
6) Are you equipped to handle my unique situation?
If you’re a long-term investor, a house-flipper, a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned vet, I can help you. I’ve worked through many different situations and enjoy the twists and turns that typically occur during real estate transactions.
7) What type of communication should I expect from you?
Truth be told, I usually meet people first through my website. My first correspondence is typically an email or a phone call from you, followed by an initial meeting, and then we both decide if we can work with each other. If you do want to work with me, then it’s at that point that constant communication to make sure that you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about the whole buying or selling process begins. My goal is to make the whole process easy and make everything less confusing.
8) Do you have a recommended vendors list?
I do! There are lenders, contractors, and inspectors that I recommend and trust, but at the end of the day, that decision is left up to you. If a friend of yours thinks you should use someone else, then I’m all for it.
9) Can I have the contact information for three references?
You sure can. Better yet, I invite my clients and their friends to quarterly mixers held at Park Circle establishments so that we can all get to know each other better. I feel like the best way to see how I treat people and truly look out for them is to talk to anyone I’ve ever worked with.
10) What questions do you have for me?
I like to get to know you as a person and determine your likes and dislikes, your goals, and your priorities. Once I have that info, it makes it a lot easier to find your perfect home.
There you have it! Hopefully, you got to know me a little better and how I like to operate. If you would like to get started in finding a home, or selling your home in Park Circle, just give me a call at (843) 714-3855 or contact me below!
