North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary – New Building Opening January 2016
The North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary held their end of year celebration recently to reveal plans for the construction of their new building which is slated to be completed by January of 2016. This is exciting news for the growth of this school and for the further development of the Oak Terrace Preserve Neighborhood which surrounds the proposed school. The current location of the school as it stands today is behind the Charleston Progressive Academy at the entrance of the Oak Terrace Preserve neighborhood, but according to the site plan below the new building will be pushed back allowing for more green space and improved traffic flow and parking.
The North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary, once completed, will be an 86,000 square foot partial magnet school offering visual and performing arts curriculum to students in grades K-5. The facility will have a capacity of 600 students.
As a partial magnet school, enrollment is determined partially by school zone as well as a lottery process. If you live within the designated school zone then your child can enroll, but if you live outside of the designated school zone then you will need to fill out an application which allows you to enter a lottery for entry.
